In an intermediate ballet class, Level 2 dancers focus on incorporating their existing strength, flexibility, and control into more complex movements, as well as an introduction to turns, jumps, and basic footwork. In addition to technical proficiency, Level 2 introduces the idea of artistry and expression, where dancers are encouraged to “dance” their technical ability, creating a sense of style and illustrating their developing musicality. Level 2 also involves an introduction to pointe work.
