Spotlight on Bianca Rowley and Miyu Sugimoto at Prix de Lausanne Asia-Pacific Preselection (Macau 2024)

From September 27 to 29, 2024, two of our brightest stars, Bianca Rowley and Miyu Sugimoto, graced the stage for the Prix de Lausanne Asia-Pacific Preselection in Macau. This event, marking the first preselection in Asia since 2022 and the very first in Macau SAR, China, underscores the Prix de Lausanne’s commitment to nurturing artistic talent and expanding global opportunities within the dance community.

Held at the Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau, this year’s preselection offered a coveted chance for up to four dancers to secure an all-expenses-paid entry into the 2025 Prix de Lausanne competition. Among the hopefuls were Bianca and Miyu, whose performances were nothing short of spectacular.

Bianca Rowley, at just 16 years old, has been a rising star within the Hong Kong ballet community for a few years now. Known for her poise and precision, she captivated the judges with her nuanced performance of “Medora (le Corsaire)”, displaying impeccable technique and profound emotional depth. Bianca’s journey in dance has been marked by rigorous training and an unwavering commitment to her craft, making her a standout performer at this year’s competition.

Miyu Sugimoto, 15, brought a fresh and vibrant energy to the stage with her rendition of “La Bayadère.” Her performance was a masterful blend of classical technique and contemporary flair, earning her rave reviews from the panel. Miyu’s dedication, talent and relentless drive have been evident since she first met Miss Venus Villa, and her achievements at the Prix de Lausanne are a testament to her hard work and passion.

Both Bianca and Miyu have consistently demonstrated excellence in their training and performances. Their participation in the Prix de Lausanne Asia-Pacific Preselection is a significant milestone, reflecting their growth as dancers and their potential for future success on the global stage.

As we celebrate their achievements, we also acknowledge the support and guidance of their dedicated teachers and the encouragement from their peers. Bianca and Miyu’s success is a collective victory, inspiring our entire dance academy to strive for excellence. We are incredibly proud of Bianca and Miyu and look forward to watching their journeys unfold as they continue to shine in the world of ballet.
